Abelardo (Ab) Lechter

Chairman of the Board, the PanAmerican Association of Philadelphia

The Panamerican Association of Philadelphia celebrated its 76th Annual Meeting in 2016, with a luncheon honoring the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, and a presentation from the Mexican Foreing Relations Secretary, Claudia Ruiz Massieu.

Abelardo is also the president of Lefa International of King of Prussia, PA, a company that represents several foreign companies in the United States. It also identifies investment opportunities and participates in joint ventures in Latin America. Prior to founding Lefa, Lechter was President of Mowlem USA. Abelardo is a member of the Board of Directors of IMA S.A., the largest furniture company in Colombia and Ritchi S.A., a manufacturer of pantyhose and a retailer of apparel products in South America.

Abelardo was born and raised in Colombia. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a Master’s degree in Industrial  Engineering and a Ph.D. in Management. He is married to Lynne Lechter, an attorney, who practices in Montgomery County.
