Romulo L. ‘Romy’ Diaz, Jr.

Vice President and General Counsel, PECO

Diaz serves as the chief legal officer of the company and oversees its team of attorneys responsible for all aspects of PECO’s legal affairs in Pennsylvania, as well as PECO’s claims and security departments. Based in Philadelphia, PECO is Pennsylvania’s largest electric and natural gas utility.

Prior to his current position, Diaz was responsible for the company’s governmental and external affairs, including overseeing the company’s award-winning suite of energy efficiency programs to help customers save energy and money. Diaz joined PECO as Associate General Counsel in 2008 and managed the regulatory law practice group in Philadelphia.

From 2005 until 2008 Diaz served as the City Solicitor of Philadelphia. For most of his career, he lived in Washington, DC. He was appointed by President Clinton to serve as Assistant Administrator for Management at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Diaz earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
